I'm a researcher working at the intersection of cognitive science and philosophy, with a strong commitment to public science and intellectual community-building through platforms like CogIST and The Analytic. I’m currently pursuing a master's degree in the Cognitive Science program at BoÄŸaziçi University, where I explore foundational questions at the intersection of philosophy and cognitive science. My academic background is in linguistics (BA, Istanbul University), and my current research focuses on radical externalism which, in this version, brings a strong form of anti-realism and the New Mechanism in philosophy of science together in arguing that why and how we should appeal to a novel, non-mentalistic ontology for cognitive science.

Outside academia, I am deeply engaged in science communication and community-building. I am the co-founder and coordinator of CogIST and The Analytic, two platforms dedicated to bridging the gap between academic discourse and broader publics. At both platforms, I follow a guiding principle I call the CogIST formula for science communication: unlike many popular science outlets, I do not simplify by condescension. I assume our audience, even without technical training, can appreciate and be inspired by the full sophistication of scientific thinking. Rather than convey isolated “fun facts,” we aim to show the structure, method, and evolving nature of science itself. Science, I believe, is challenging, boring and complex, but precisely in that complexity lies a form of satisfaction and intellectual joy. My goal is to invite others into that experience, not just as spectators, but as collaborators in thought.

Let's work together!
As a researcher with a background in cognitive science and philosophy, I’m open to collaborations in both academic and industry-related research. Beyond that, I also welcome opportunities to contribute—either as a speaker or in an organizational role—to science communication initiatives such as CogIST, The Analytic, or similar platforms. I offer mentorship and consultation to students seeking to navigate their future in academy especially in cognitive science or philosophy. Additionally, I collaborate with individuals, institutions, and organizations interested in community-building, and can provide guidance on designing effective outreach and engagement strategies.
